Step-by-Step Instructions

1
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the cannelloni pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
3
Add the onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, dried basil, and dried oregano to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.
4
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then add the canned tomatoes and marinara sauce. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5
In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well to combine.
6
In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the marinara sauce on the bottom. Arrange 4-6 cannelloni pasta pieces on top of the sauce.
7
Spoon some of the meat sauce over the pasta, followed by a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Repeat this process until all the ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
8
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
