Step-by-Step Instructions

1
Rinse the cauliflower and break it into florets. In a large bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil. Add the cauliflower florets to the marinade and mix well to coat. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
2
In a separate bowl, mix together cornstarch, Panko breadcrumbs, and a pinch of salt. Remove the cauliflower from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off. Dip each floret into the cornstarch mixture, coating it evenly, then into the beaten egg, and finally into the Panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Place the coated cauliflower on a plate or tray.
3
Heat about 2-3 inches (5-7.5 cm) of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add a few pieces of the coated cauliflower to the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Drain the fried cauliflower on paper towels.
4
Repeat the frying process with the remaining cauliflower pieces. Serve the Korean Fried Cauliflower Bites hot, garnished with toasted sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and crispy garlic. Offer the spicy gochujang dipping sauce on the side.
